About the prototype: The railcars 137 326-331 a/b and 367-376 a/b were sided from 1940-41 and were to be used on non-electrified regional high-speed lines. After the Second World War, 3 of them went to the DB, 9 to the DR and one to the CSD, which was given back to the GDR shortly afterwards and dismantled there. In the Federal Republic of Germany, the railcars were still in service until 1969. In the DR, they were taken out of service as railcars in the mid-1960s but continued to be used as sidecars without engines.
About the model: With this model of the VT 137, Kres offers a replica based on the operating condition of Era II, shortly after the railcars were completed. It has various digitally controllable sound and light functions. The lighting functions include interior lighting that sets the scene for the detailed interior. The structural features of the original are reproduced in great detail and combined with outstanding running characteristics thanks to a powerful and smooth-running motor.
