About the prototype: 16 Stettin railcars with the road numbers 137 326-331 a/b and 367-376 a/b were produced from 1940. These were originally intended for regional express service on non-electrified lines, but were not used for the time being due to World War II. 3 units found their way into DB service and were used there until 1969. Another 9 were used by the DR until 1960 and continued to be used as sidecars after their engines were removed. 1 railcar came into the possession of the CSD, but was transferred back to the GDR in 1951 and dismantled. Of these vehicles, the former VB 147 551 a/b has been preserved by the Aschersleben Railway Club.
About the model: This model from the Kres company reproduces one of the railcars that became the property of the DB after the Second World War. It is characterized by its structural features, which are excellently modeled on the original, detailed printing and a lovingly designed interior. This can be excellently staged with the interior lighting. Both the interior lighting and the headlights are implemented using LEDs, which minimize maintenance work and ensure the right light intensity. A 5-pole motor produces very pleasantly quiet driving characteristics, coupled with very good power generation.
