The Kres 1816DS BR 675 "Museum Train" multiple unit from Era V is an impressive model that will make the hearts of model train fans beat faster. The multiple unit, designed in a scale of 1:120 for TT gauge, not only offers a detailed appearance, but also a range of modern technical features such as head and tail lighting depending on the direction of travel and interior lighting as standard. The class 675 multiple unit is a typical example of the museum trains of the German State Railroad in Era V and brings a piece of railroad history to your model railroad layout.
The class 675 was originally developed for local transportation, but in the course of time some of these multiple units found a new use as museum vehicles. Today, these multiple units are popular exhibits and run regularly on tourist routes. The Kres 1816DS multiple unit reproduces such a museum train from Era V, when the vehicles of the Deutsche Reichsbahn were placed under monument protection and restored. The model impresses with its authentic paintwork and the prototypical design, which reflects the charm of the historic vehicles.
The Kres 1816DS multiple unit is equipped with a DC sound decoder that provides a realistic sound experience. This allows you to enjoy the characteristic engine sound and other sound effects directly on your layout. The interior lighting of the multiple unit is installed in warm white as standard and ensures an atmospheric driving experience, especially when driving at night.
The model has direction-dependent head and tail lighting that changes automatically depending on the direction of travel. The lighting provides additional realism and is a real highlight on your layout. The 4-pole current-carrying coupling ensures a reliable power supply between the car units, resulting in consistent functionality.
With a length over coupling of approx. 820 mm and a height above top of rail of 34.9 mm, the model fits harmoniously into TT layouts. Thanks to the traction tires (8 pieces), the multiple unit offers excellent tractive power so that even gradients and tight curves can be mastered without any problems. The smallest radius that can be driven is 310 mm, which means that the train can be used optimally on typical TT layouts with moderate curve radii.
The BR 675 multiple unit is designed for operation on 2-wire direct current (DC) systems. The nominal voltage in analog operation is 12 VDC in accordance with NEM 630, while DCC operation on the track takes place with a voltage of 13.3 to 16.1 V rms in accordance with NEM 641. This enables seamless integration into modern digital systems. The model weighs 282 g, which ensures a stable and smooth ride.
The multiple unit can be operated on both analog and digital layouts, which offers maximum flexibility. The sound and light functions can be controlled digitally via the DCC decoder, which makes for an even more authentic driving experience. With its numerous technical refinements, this model is a real asset to any TT model railway layout.
The Kres 1816DS BR 675 "Museum Train" multiple unit is a must for all model railroaders who value historical accuracy and technical perfection. With its extensive functions, detailed design and high-quality technology, this multiple unit train offers everything a model railroader's heart desires. Whether as a collector's item or for active operation on the layout - this multiple unit train will impress both visually and technically.
Thanks to the precise workmanship, the comprehensive equipment and the modern sound and lighting technology, this model is an enrichment for every TT model railway layout and offers you many years of fun and driving pleasure. Experience the fascination of railroad history with this impressive museum train!
