Kres 4912DS railcar Gläserner Zug ex ET 9101, 491 001-4, DB, Ep. IV (incl. sound) Product Details

Description

About the prototype: 2 examples of the glass train were built in 1935. These were mainly used for special trips and excursions in southern Germany and Austria, but also visited Switzerland. When building the carriages, the aim was to offer passengers as unobstructed a view as possible of the landscape panorama outside the carriages. One of the railcars was destroyed during the Second World War, which is why the second was specially protected. This meant that it could still be actively used until 1995. Unfortunately, there was an accident on December 12, which put an end to the glass train's service life. Since 2005, the repaired and visually refurbished model has been on display in the Augsburg Railway Park.

About the model: The Kres model combines the visual features of the original with outstanding running characteristics and various light and sound functions. The printing and design of the carriages are based exactly on the original and the detailed interior can also be viewed through the many windows. This can also be set in scene by the interior lighting, which is implemented in the form of LEDs, as is the red and white light change. This creates intensive lighting with minimal maintenance requirements.
