About the prototype: The ET 9101 and 9102 multiple units were the electric versions of a total of five models of the "Gläserner Zug" type, which was used for the first time in 1935. The other three units were equipped with diesel propulsion. While ET 9102 was destroyed during the Second World War, ET 9101 was still in service until 1995. Initially, it was mainly used in southern Germany and Austria. As the electrification of the route network progressed over the years, journeys to Switzerland and more northerly areas of Germany were also possible. ET9101 also served all the new federal states and the former Czechoslovakia. Due to an incident in 1995, operation unfortunately had to be discontinued and since then, it has been restored to museum condition in the Augsburg Railway Park.
About the model: Kres reproduces this historic car in the form of an analog model. In addition to a very detailed reproduction of all structural details, as well as very accurate printing, the model offers a slot according to NEM 651 for conversion to digital operation. The model also features interior lighting as well as head and tail lighting depending on the direction of travel. The highly detailed roof-mounted pantographs not only enhance the overall visual impression, but can also be used for overhead line operation. The scope of delivery includes an NEM shaft and an exchange wheel set without pinion, which makes it possible to use the model as a pure sidecar behind a diesel or electric locomotive.
