The Kres 51047033 H0 BR 670 double-decker rail bus is a detailed replica of an extraordinary Deutsche Bahn regional transport vehicle. This model reproduces the 670 004-1 exactly in the condition of Era V and impresses with digital control, LED lighting and a realistic light change. The class 670 was developed in the early 1990s as an innovative vehicle concept for regional branch lines. The idea was to enable higher capacity on less frequented routes with a compact double-decker design. Despite the promising design, only six vehicles were built, of which the 670 004-1 was temporarily used by Deutsche Bahn AG (DBAG).
The rail bus stood out due to its striking design with large windows, which gave passengers an excellent view. The vehicle was mainly used on rural routes where conventional multiple units would have been uneconomical.
Era V (1990-2006) was characterized by the privatization of Deutsche Bundesbahn and Deutsche Reichsbahn to form Deutsche Bahn AG (DBAG). During this time, many new vehicle concepts were tested in order to make regional transport more efficient. The BR 670 was an example of these innovative efforts, but did not succeed due to its low capacity and technical challenges.

The rail bus has a length over buffers of 187 mm and is designed for operation on 3-wire AC systems (AC digital). Thanks to the Next18 interface, the model can be controlled digitally without any problems.
Particularly noteworthy are the realistic light changes in red and white as well as the LED interior lighting, which illuminates the interior of the vehicle in an atmospheric way. The minimum radius for operation is 362 mm, which means that the model can also be used on more compact layouts.
The model is painted in the DBAG's Era V livery and has the true-to-original road number 670 004-1. The large window areas ensure a particularly realistic representation of the passenger compartment, while the fine printing and detailing round off the high-quality impression of the model.
The BR 670 double-decker rail bus is ideal for regional local services on branch lines and as a shuttle railcar between smaller stations. It can be operated both as a solo vehicle and in combination with other local transport models.
The model should be cleaned regularly to avoid dust deposits. The LED lighting is maintenance-free, but the model should be protected from heavy soiling. The digital control can be individually configured to ensure an optimal riding experience.
