Description

Modellschmiede Kühn offers a first-class model of a double-deck car of Era V. After the DR Reichsbahn initially had fixed-coupled articulated trains with double-deck cars in service, they reassigned them for practical reasons. The first series of double-deck single cars was delivered in 1974. Just five years later, these cars were repainted in "fawn-birch gray" - which earned them the nickname "mustard pots". These cars were also used in Berlin commuter service, where they were given a red-beige paint scheme and their own nickname: "Sputnik".
