The Lenz 40134-13 edition model of the class 212 is a highly detailed diesel locomotive of the German Federal Railroad from Era IV. The locomotive is distinguished by its characteristic oriental red color scheme and the many high-quality features that make it a special collector's item. With a length over buffers (LLP) of 273 mm and a variety of technical functions, this model offers an extraordinary experience both visually and technically for model railroaders who want to add an authentic and powerful model to their gauge 0 layout.
The class 212 belongs to the family of V100 diesel locomotives and was used by the Deutsche Bundesbahn from the 1960s onwards. It was primarily designed for light to medium-duty mainline service and shunting service. In Era IV, the class 212 was widespread and was used on many branch and main lines. This model perfectly captures the charm of this locomotive with its characteristic oriental red paintwork and offers a detailed replica for gauge 0 layouts.
The model of the BR 212 offers numerous technical features that make it an outstanding choice for demanding model railroaders. The drive via 4 axles ensures high tractive power and enables smooth and powerful running, even with long trains. The locomotive is equipped with metal wheel sets that not only ensure high stability, but also optimum current collection.
The locomotive has a remote-controlled coupler that makes coupling and uncoupling easy and convenient. A screw coupling can also be retrofitted to further increase the realism of the model. The spring buffers and the detailed interior round off the realistic appearance of the model.
The interior and driver's cab lighting is factory-fitted and ensures that the driver's cab remains visible even in the dark. The constant light and the direction-dependent light change (white/red) are also integrated and provide realistic lighting. The rear lights can be switched digitally, making operation of the model even more versatile.
In addition, the model is equipped with a sound module that reproduces authentic sounds of the diesel locomotive, including driving noises, signal horn and other effects. These functions can be used in both digital and analog operation, whereby the locomotive has automatic digital/analog recognition.
The model has advanced digital functions that optimize the driving experience on the model railway layout. With ABC (Automatic Brake Control), the locomotive can stop automatically in pre-programmed braking sections, which is particularly useful when operating with signals. USP (Uninterruptible Signal Processing) ensures that the locomotive continues to run smoothly even during short power interruptions.
The integrated RailCom enables the locomotive address and other information to be fed back to the digital control center, making it easier to control and monitor the model on modern layouts.
The Lenz 40134-13 edition model of the BR 212 is a high-quality and detailed model that is both visually and technically impressive. With its oriental red paintwork, the many technical functions and the excellent attention to detail, this model is an enrichment for every gauge 0 layout. Thanks to the digital control, lighting and sound functions as well as the advanced technology, this locomotive is perfect for demanding model railroaders looking for a versatile and powerful model.
