Are you looking for a functional yet stylish carriage for your Era IV train set in 0 scale? The Lenz 41303-02 BDm 272 German Federal Railroad half baggage car combines a seat and baggage compartment in one vehicle - typical for express train service in the 1970s and perfect for realistic train formations.
The BDm 272 served as a versatile solution for passengers and luggage in many express and inter-zone trains. With its RAL 6020 chrome oxide green color scheme, it is an ideal visual match for the classic DB express train coaches of Era IV. The BDm 272 was an indispensable link between comfort and functionality, particularly in train compositions without separate luggage coaches.
The model impresses with its detailed interior design, both in the passenger and luggage areas. The constant lighting is reliably supplied via current pick-up at the wheel bearings - for atmospheric and flicker-free illumination. Spring buffers, close coupler kinematics, kinemagnetics and metal wheelsets ensure smooth running and stable couplings during operation.
Thanks to the NEM shaft, the car can be integrated immediately into existing train sets. A screw coupling can be retrofitted if required. The USP function (uninterruptible power supply) ensures constant light even with short power interruptions - ideal for modern analog and digital systems with realistic operation.
The BDm 272 combines function, style and model technology. Whether as a transition between the seating car and luggage compartment or as a striking end car - it is a must for all model railroaders who want to design their Era IV compositions as closely as possible to the prototype.
