After the line was decommissioned, SWEG acquired four of these cars to revive passenger service on the Jagsttalbahn. One of them was the M-D 3. Starting in 1967, it served on school routes and later as part of historic trains on the 39-km-long route between Möckmühl and Dörzbach.

The LGB model depicts the MD 3 car in its operational condition around 1983, as it was used by SWEG at that time.
