The Liliput L133869 H0 6-part "KISS" electric multiple unit train from the WESTbahn is an excellent model of a modern Austrian long-distance train. WESTbahn is a private railroad company in Austria that has been operating on the Vienna-Salzburg route as a direct competitor to the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB) since 2011. For this connection, WESTbahn ordered seven six-car KISS double-decker trains from Swiss manufacturer Stadler Rail. These trains were specially designed for long-distance services and originally reached a maximum speed of 200 km/h. Due to technical adjustments to the door anchorages, the speed was temporarily limited to 160 km/h before the vehicles were re-approved for high-speed operation.
The trains offer a high level of comfort and are designed for efficient passenger transportation. In each of the four middle cars, there is a café area above one bogie, while two toilets are located above the other bogie. There is also a large universal toilet for passengers with reduced mobility in carriage 400. In the end carriages there are spacious seating areas with large tables, which are especially designed for longer journeys. The Liliput model exactly reproduces this original version of the WESTbahn KISS multiple unit.

The model is equipped with two powerful motors located in the two power cars. These ensure even power transmission and high tractive power. The multiple unit is designed for alternating current (AC) operation and is equipped with a modern ESU LokPilot digital decoder. This supports the Motorola/Märklin format as well as mfx, so that simple integration into digital model railroad systems is possible.
The interior lighting provides a realistic representation of the passenger area. The multiple unit has a current-carrying coupling that ensures a safe power supply for the entire unit. The model can also be switched to overhead line operation, which opens up additional application options.
The lighting system includes a three-pointed headlight and two direction-dependent marker lights, which provide a realistic representation of driving operation. With a length over buffers of 1730 mm, this model is an impressive highlight on any H0 layout. Please note that full functionality is not guaranteed on Märklin M track.
The multiple unit is designed in the original color scheme of the WESTbahn and has the road numbers 4010 003-0, 4010 203-6, 4010 303-4, 4010 403-2, 4010 503-9 and 4010 603-7. The fine printing with the train destination sign "Salzburg - next station Linz" gives the model a high degree of authenticity. The interior has also been reproduced in great detail so that the seating arrangement, café areas and toilets correspond exactly to the prototype.
The WESTbahn-KISS is ideal for modern model railroad layouts that depict the current long-distance traffic in Austria. Due to its six carriages and considerable length, it is particularly suitable for spacious layouts. It is ideal for use on main lines or stations and is a perfect addition to other Era VI long-distance trains.
The model should be cleaned regularly to keep it in perfect condition. Dust can be carefully removed with a soft brush or compressed air spray. The moving parts, especially couplings and drives, should be checked regularly and lightly lubricated with special model railroad oil.
