With the Liliput L162597, Liliput brings a classic class 333 shunting locomotive into the modern appearance of epoch VI. The locomotive with the road number 333 016-4 is presented in the color scheme of Deutsche Bahn AG / DB Cargo: traffic red with a basalt gray frame. As a versatile model in N scale, this compact diesel locomotive is ideal for analog and digital layouts with a focus on modern freight traffic and shunting operations.
The locomotive was accepted by the German Federal Railroad on 05.10.1968 - built by the Jung locomotive factory under the factory number 14056. Originally delivered with Era IV lettering, it was repainted in Orient Red / Light Grey during a general inspection in 1992. In 2000, it was repainted in the current DB AG traffic red / basalt gray. The model represents the condition in 2001 - shortly before the accident that led to its retirement in 2003. A piece of realistic railroad modernity with an eventful history!
The clear lines and the strong traffic red paintwork make the 333 016-4 an eye-catcher on any N-gauge layout. The body is finely engraved, the lettering is razor-sharp and exactly modeled on the original. The basalt gray frame offers a successful contrast to the bright body - typical for DB Cargo vehicles of Era VI.
The locomotive is prepared for analogue operation, but can be easily digitized thanks to the digital interface. With its short design and solid mechanics, the locomotive is perfect for tight radii, industrial facilities, sidings or factory traffic in modern model railroad operation.
