Description

The prototype, the 628 502 / 928 502 with the nickname "Keitum" and the train destination display "Westerland (Sylt)", which has been modernized and repainted especially for this purpose, has been operating as the "Sylt Shuttle Plus" since 2015. These trains are coupled (or uncoupled) in Niebüll to the car trains of the 39 km long Sylt service between Sylt and the mainland and then run as an independent train in the direction of Husum and sometimes also to Hamburg. The trains offer space for bicycles and up to 140 passengers, are equipped with a 1st class compartment and mainly run every half hour.
