The Liliput L235746 H0 Heavy-Duty Transport Car is a highly detailed replica of the 6-axle Sa 705 heavy-duty transport car of the Deutsche Bundesbahn (DB) from Era IV. With a length over buffers (LOB) of 152 mm and a road number of 21 80 480 0 098-6, this model fits seamlessly into historical model railroad layouts and impresses with its high level of detail and functionality.
Between 1942 and 1944, the Deutsche Reichsbahn (DRB) procured 6-axle heavy-duty flatcars for transporting tanks, with a load capacity of up to 80 metric tons. These cars were designated as SSyms Köln. After World War II, over 300 of these cars were transferred to the Deutsche Bundesbahn (DB), where they were classified as SSym 46. They were primarily used to transport slabs (semi-finished steel products) and were redesignated Sa 705 in 1964. Starting in 1983, more modern cars became available for slab transport, after which the cars—now designated Sammp 705—were gradually taken out of service. However, a few remained in the DB AG fleet until Epoch V.
