The Liliput L235789 H0 transport car with Strüver “ÖMV” tank trailer is an exceptional model that captures a fascinating era in Austrian transportation history. As a special ÖBB Class 977 car with the road number 977 0 000-4, it transports a restored tank trailer from the Austrian Mineral Oil Administration (ÖMV)—faithfully reproduced in detail and ideal for Era IV scenarios on the model railroad layout.
The tank trailer depicted in the model comes from the “Strüver Monotank” series, which was manufactured starting in 1961 by the Hamburg-based company Ad. Strüver. These tank semi-trailers were far ahead of their time and enabled the safe and efficient transport of fuels and milk. The type of semi-trailer shown here was used in Austria and has been preserved—a true classic of industrial and logistics history.
The tanker semi-trailer features the authentic “Österreichische Mineralölverwaltung” (ÖMV) livery and is finely molded. It is securely mounted on the 152 mm long ÖBB transport car, which itself has been rendered with realistic attention to detail. The model impresses with its harmonious combination of rail and road freight transport, as was commonly seen in Era IV.
Whether in a refinery area, on a spur track, or in a station layout—the ÖMV tanker trailer looks particularly convincing when combined with other vehicles from this era. Its historical accuracy and precise craftsmanship make this model not only an eye-catcher but also a collector’s item with a special background.
