With the Liliput L235792 H0 ÖBB transport car featuring a Strüver tank trailer “Landfrisch Molkerei,” Liliput is bringing a particularly charming and rare model to the tracks. The Class 977 car, bearing road number 977 0 000-4, is presented in Era IV condition and is loaded with a lovingly restored historic milk tank trailer. This model combines authentic vehicle history with nostalgic charm—ideal for scenes set around dairies, freight yards, or rural loading stations.
The cargo consists of a historic tank trailer from the Ad. Strüver company, which developed the “Monotank” trailer in 1961—an innovation in liquid transport at the time. The semi-trailers were produced until 1993 and were widely used for transporting milk and fuel. The model shown here features the “Landfrisch Molkerei” lettering and is based on a prototype that has survived in Austria and been meticulously restored.
The ÖBB transport car is accurately rendered in H0 scale and measures 152 mm over the buffers. The Strüver semi-trailer features crisp printing, detailed craftsmanship, and, thanks to its distinctive shape, is highly recognizable. The combination of a rail car and a road tanker creates an authentic yet unusual transport scene, one that was quite common from the 1960s through the 1980s.
Whether as a standalone piece at a freight yard, in a dairy diorama, or as part of a historic freight train—this model offers numerous possibilities for use. Especially when combined with other Era IV vehicles, the transport car reveals its special charm and brings a rare aspect of rail freight transport to model railroading.
