With the Liliput L235793 H0 transport car featuring a Strüver “ARAL” tank trailer, Liliput presents an extraordinary model that captures road and rail transport from the 1960sthrough the 1980s in an exciting combination. The ÖBB transport car (Type 977) in H0 scale is loaded with a carefully restored tank trailer from the legendary “Strüver Monotank” series—a real eye-catcher for all fans of historic logistics and Era IV enthusiasts.
The model’s cargo is a rare tank trailer from the Hamburg-based company Ad. Strüver, which set a milestone in liquid transport in 1961 with the “Strüver Monotank.” These tank trailers were technically innovative and designed for transporting milk and fuels. The model depicts one of these historic semi-trailers in the typical blue ARAL paint scheme, evoking an era when such vehicles were still a common sight on roads and railways.
The transport car is based on the ÖBB Class 977 and bears the road number 977 0 000-4. With a length over the buffers of 152 mm, it fits perfectly into any Era IV layout. The tank trailer features fine printing, detailed molding, and sits securely on the special car. This unique combination of a rail car and a historic road tanker captures an authentic snapshot of everyday logistics during the postwar decades.
Whether on a siding in front of an oil depot, at a train station, or at a loading station—this model offers a wide range of uses on the model railroad. At the same time, the combination of a rail vehicle and a road vehicle makes it a true collector’s item. The ARAL tanker trailer brings a nostalgic flair to the layout and evokes memories of the distinctive gas station design of days gone by.
