The 4-axle tank car of the standard design comes from the company Fuchs Mineralölwerk GmbH in Mannheim. It is used by Deutsche Bahn (DB) and has the road number 774 3 125-6.
From 1941, around 1400 lightweight bogie tank wagons of the Deutz type were built and used by the DRG. During the Second World War, however, huge quantities of fuel had to be transported from Germany to the many front sections. For this reason, test series of a new standard bogie wagon were built and delivered by various manufacturing companies from 1942 onwards.
From 1943 to 1947, around 1300 wagons of this standardized design with 480 hl and 630 hl tank capacity were produced in series, which were similar to the Deutz design in many respects. The last wagons were delivered directly to Deutsche Shell. After the end of the war, both types were in service throughout Europe and continued to be used into Era V. Some of them are still in service abroad today, and in Germany they can still be found as service cars or water cars, for example.
