The Liliput L260224 N 2-part set of Uagpps "GRAWACO" grain transport wagons is a detailed reproduction of modern self-unloading wagons for international bulk goods transport. These 4-axle wagons are true to the original in the color scheme of the Dutch company GRAWACO and were operated by Wagon Care. With fine lettering, an authentic reproduction of the unloading equipment and excellent running characteristics, they are a perfect addition to Era VI model railroad layouts.
The Uagpps type grain wagons have been specially developed for the transportation of moisture-sensitive bulk goods such as grain, maize, wheat and sunflower seeds. Their design enables safe transportation over long distances, as the wagons have a special inner coating that protects the load from moisture.
The wagons shown here with the road numbers 9345 011-2 and 9345 029-4 were operated by GRAWACO and were employed by Wagon Care in the Netherlands. They were among the numerous bulk freight wagons that were used in international agricultural trade between the Netherlands, Germany and other European countries. Thanks to their modern design, they enabled fast loading through the sliding roof and efficient gravity unloading via several openings on the underside.
In Era VI (from 1990 to the present day), freight transport was increasingly operated by private companies. Companies such as GRAWACO and Wagon Care managed and leased freight wagons for specialized transport tasks. The grain wagons depicted here were used in 2012 operating condition and were active in agricultural transportation throughout Europe.
The manufacturer Liliput stands for exact model reproductions with fine printing, filigree engravings and high-quality running characteristics. The L260224 set is characterized by its precise detailing and realistic reproduction of the "GRAWACO" grain wagons.
Each wagon has a length over buffers of 96 mm and is equipped with an NEM 355 coupler pocket and close coupler kinematics. This ensures safe operation and problem-free combination with other freight cars.
The cars have a realistic representation of the unloading devices and a fine sliding roof that realistically reproduces loading and unloading. The detailed lettering with the GRAWACO logos and the individual car numbers corresponds exactly to the prototypes of Era VI.
The set contains two wagons in the light grey color scheme that is characteristic of many modern grain transport wagons. The fine printing with technical data and the individual car numbers provides a realistic look and makes these cars a highlight in modern freight trains.
The set is ideal for freight trains in international agricultural transportation. The wagons can be used in block trains or mixed bulk goods transports and are an excellent addition to modern loading facilities, grain silos or port facilities.
To ensure a long service life, the wagons should be cleaned regularly. Dust can be carefully removed with a soft brush or compressed air spray. The axles and couplings should be checked occasionally and lubricated with special model railroad oil.
