The Märklin 26931 train set brings the legendary Metropolitan Express Train (MET) to the world of model railroading. The MET was a luxury train operated by Deutsche Bahn AG on the Hamburg-Cologne route between 1999 and 2001. The interior of the cars has been color-coordinated to reflect the luxurious character of the original. With a total length over buffers of approx. 236 cm, this set is an impressive eye-catcher on any model railroad layout.
The class 101 locomotive and the control car are equipped with the latest digital decoders. These offer a variety of sound functions, including driving noises, fans and announcements. All of the lighting elements, including headlights, high beams, and interior lighting, are equipped with maintenance-free warm white LEDs and can be controlled digitally. The extensive digital functions ensure a realistic driving experience and make this set a highlight of modern model railway technology.
The MET train requires a minimum curve radius of 360 mm and is therefore also suitable for more compact layouts. For larger radii, the standard skirts at the ends of the carriages can be replaced with the alternative parts supplied. This flexibility allows the set to be used on a variety of model railroad layouts.
