Class 042 freight steam locomotive with oil main firing and oil tender of the standard construction type 2'2'T 34. Rebuilt version with new high performance boiler. German Federal Railroad (DB). Berliner Maschinenbau AG Schwartzkopff delivered the first high-speed class 41 freight locomotives in 1936. These locomotives proved to be universal locomotives for medium-duty trains. Between 1936 and 1941, a total of 366 locomotives of this class were built, most of which were taken over by the Deutsche Bundesbahn and the Deutsche Reichsbahn after the war.
