The Märklin 38110 H0 Class 1100 electric locomotive is an impressive reproduction of the first construction series of the Class 1100 electric locomotive of the Dutch Railways (NS). The prototype: NS 1100 series electric locomotive

The 1100 series electric locomotives were built for the Dutch Railways from the 1950s onwards. The locomotive 1108 shown here is from the first series (numbers 1101-1150) and was designed for passenger and freight traffic. With its classic dark blue paint scheme and the characteristic raised ornamental strips, it is a symbol of the heyday of the Dutch Railroad in Era III.

The mfx+ digital decoder allows a realistic driving experience, while the buffer storage unit ensures uninterrupted operation even during short periods without power. Technical Highlights of the Märklin 38110

The locomotive has controlled high-efficiency propulsion that is installed centrally and drives all four axles via cardan shafts. Traction tires provide optimum traction, and the three-light headlights in the inverted L signal (two yellow lights at the bottom, one white light at the top) depending on the direction of travel and the red marker lights can be controlled digitally. When the headlights are deactivated, the locomotive automatically switches to shunting lighting (one yellow light at the bottom on each side).

Realism and expansion options

The model has close couplers in the standard NEM shaft as well as plug-in brake lines and screw couplers that further refine the appearance. Matching ball container cars (item 46632) complement the locomotive perfectly and allow realistic train compositions. With a length over buffers of 14.9 cm, the locomotive fits ideally on H0 layouts with a minimum radius of 360 mm.
