Description

Märklin 38190 H0 Class 19.0 "Sachsenstolz" Steam Locomotive, DR, Era III - A Technical and Visual Highlight

With the Märklin 38190 class 19.0 "Sachsenstolz" express steam locomotive, one of the most impressive locomotives in German railroad history is returning to the model railroad layout in miniature form. This completely new design impresses with its filigree metal construction, finest detailing and impressive technology. As a symbol of Saxon engineering, the class 19.0 was not only a powerhouse on the rails, but also a real eye-catcher - and this is also impressively realized in H0 scale.

A powerhouse with history

The steam locomotive known as the "Sachsenstolz" was originally built between 1918 and 1923 and was one of the most powerful express locomotives of its time. With 1800 hp and a service weight of 162 tons, it was designed for heavy express train services in the Saxon mountains. Even after the Second World War, it served the German Reichsbahn of the GDR reliably until 1958. Märklin is now bringing this striking model back to the tracks - technically modernized, visually true to the original.

Detailed model realization in H0

The class 19.0 appears in the operating condition of the early 1950s, Era IIIa, with the locomotive number 19 016 and the typical 2'2 T31 coal tender. The locomotive impresses with large wind deflectors, hinged cab doors, filigree details and a dynamic smoke function - including speed-dependent smoke output. Firebox flickering and driver's cab lighting can be switched separately digitally. The model is equipped with an mfx+ decoder and supports numerous sound and game world functions.

Perfect for demanding model railroaders

With its locomotive-tender combination made entirely of metal, close coupler kinematics, buffer height according to NEM and built-in buffer storage, the Märklin 38190 is technically state-of-the-art. It masters the minimum radius R2 (437.5 mm) without any problems - and R1 with careful operation. The LED lighting provides an atmospheric effect in operation.
