The Märklin 38206 is a masterpiece of steam locomotive technology in H0. As a reworked reproduction of the class 01.5 express locomotive of the German State Railroad (GDR), this model with the road number 01 504 embodies the operating condition of the 1960s. With the typical black basic paint scheme, white decorative stripes, red running gear and the characteristic Witte wind deflectors in a special BR 01.5 design, this locomotive is a visual and technical highlight on any Era III layout.
The model shows many special features of the 01.5 series: continuous dome cladding, laterally clad circulation plates, openwork bar frame, Boxpok wheels and a powerful 2'2' T34 coal tender. The finely applied details and the largely metal construction make the model a real collector's item and operating model in equal measure.
The locomotive has an mfx+ decoder with numerous sound and light functions. A smoke insert is fitted as standard and can be switched digitally. The three-light headlights change over depending on the direction of travel, and cab lighting can also be switched on separately in digital operation. An integrated buffer tank ensures safe operation - ideal for uninterrupted driving fun on demanding layouts.
A controlled high-performance drive with flywheel mass in the boiler drives three axles. Traction tires provide additional tractive force. The close coupling with kinematics between the locomotive and tender guarantees a close and flexible connection. There is a kinematic close coupler with NEM shaft on the tender. The model can be used from a minimum radius of 360 mm and, with a length of 28.2 cm, offers an impressive presence on the layout.
