With the Märklin 38601, you can get one of the best-known German switching locomotives on your H0 layout: the German Federal Railroad class 260 diesel locomotive in the condition around 1980. In the elegant ocean blue/ivory paint scheme and equipped with modern digital technology, Telex couplers, and extensive lighting, this model is a highlight for every company railroader.
The class 260 (formerly V 60) was built in large numbers from the 1950s and served for decades in shunting service and on branch lines. Its characteristic shape with long front end, blind shaft and high reliability made it a familiar sight at many stations - shown here in the Era IV version with road number 260 106-0.
The model has a controlled high-performance drive with a flywheel. One axle is driven directly, two other axles and the dummy shaft via coupling rods. The Telex couplings can be switched separately digitally at the front and rear, ideal for precise shunting maneuvers. Numerous lighting functions, including running gear lighting and cab lighting, provide a realistic operating atmosphere.
