Eurocity 67 "Admiraal de Ruyter".
The ICM (InterCityMaterieel) series of NS is an electric railcar for fast, comfortable intercity service. They are popularly called Koploper (literally "head runners") because of the transitions at the front of the cars. The driver's cab is located in a panorama pulpit above the transition, which gives these cars a very beefy look and is as typical of the Netherlands as the Dutch cheese and at Märklin as "Hoek van Holland". Until 2005, it was possible to change from one part of the train to the other during the run. In 1983, Talbot in Aachen began series production of a three-part railcar, type designated as ICM-1, train no. 4011-4050. From no. 4051, the type designation changed to ICM-2. From 1990, the (previously three-part) ICMs were delivered as four-part trains (series ICM-3 and ICM-4). The prototype of model 39425 corresponds to the use of Koploper 4015 in 1987 as Eurocity 67 "Admiraal de Ruyter" Amsterdam - London for the route in the Netherlands to Hoek van Holland.
