Description

Are you looking for an attractively shaped Era I express train steam locomotive with AC MFX sound?

The Märklin 39435 H0 Class S 3/6 "Hochhaxige" Steam Locomotive, K.Bay.Sts.B., Era I, AC-MFX Sound is an especially elegant model for model railroaders and collectors who are looking for a classic express steam locomotive from the Royal Bavarian State Railways. Under the motto "Magical - Shapely - Elegant", this model represents a locomotive whose prototype already fascinated with its extraordinary appearance.

In the spring of 1907, Maffei was commissioned to build a Pacific compound locomotive for the Royal Bavarian State Railways. Maffei developed the Bavarian S 3/6 based on the Baden "IV f", which was built in the same house. This locomotive was particularly characterized by its timelessly elegant appearance and the four-cylinder compound engine, which was to fascinate generations of railroad enthusiasts.

Prototype: Bavarian S 3/6 "Hochhaxige"

The prototype for the Märklin 39435 is an express train steam locomotive of the Bavarian class S 3/6 with a 2'2 T32.5 coal tender. The locomotive belongs to the Royal Bavarian State Railroad, K.Bay.Sts.B. for short. The substructure series d is depicted, which is described as a high-axle locomotive with a driving wheel diameter of 2,000 mm.

The road number is 3627 and the operating condition is defined as around 1912. The model is therefore clearly assigned to Era I and is particularly suitable for all those who would like to use an early, high-quality express locomotive with a royal Bavarian character on their H0 layout.

Model with mfx+ digital decoder and sound

The model is equipped with an mfx+ digital decoder and has extensive sound functions. The controlled high-performance drive has a flywheel mass in the boiler. A total of 3 axles are powered.

The locomotive and tender are largely made of metal. The filigree running gear is also made of metal and has an open bar frame. The unobstructed view through the running gear emphasizes the elegant effect of the locomotive and makes the S 3/6 a special model, even on closer inspection.

Light, Smoke and Driver's Cab

The Märklin 39435 has a two-light headlights that change over with the direction of travel. This is in conventional operation and can be controlled digitally. A train headlight can also be controlled separately. The lamps are white and the lighting is provided by maintenance-free warm white LEDs.

A smoke unit installed as standard is in conventional operation. The driver's cab is detailed and the cab lighting can be switched digitally. The model thus combines the classic appearance of the Bavarian express steam locomotive with modern digital equipment.

Coupling, accessories and design

There is a close-coupling kinematic system with a showcase position between the locomotive and tender. There is a kinematic close coupler with an NEM shaft on the tender. The buffer height at the front corresponds to NEM.

The model comes with filigree smokebox door steps, a hook coupler, an air hose for the rear of the tender and piston rod protection tubes. The length over buffers is 26.7 cm. If you are looking for an elegant H0 express train steam locomotive with a royal Bavarian prototype, metal construction, mfx+ decoder and sound, the Märklin 39435 S 3/6 "Hochhaxige" is an excellent choice for your collection or layout.
