Märklin 39521 - H0 Electric locomotive Ce 6/8 I "Köfferli", SBB (Era III)

The legendary "Köfferli" locomotive - officially known as the Ce 6/8 I series of the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) - is one of the most striking freight electric locomotives of early electrification. Märklin is presenting a highly detailed model in early 1950s condition with road number 14201. The fir green paint scheme with gray running gear, the cab doors on the ends with transition plates, Integra-Signum magnets, and false running signal are a faithful reflection of the original version of this unique locomotive.

Technical Details & Digital Equipment

The central high-performance drive with flywheel drives three driving wheels and the dummy shaft in the two driving frames via cardan shafts. The locomotive is equipped with an articulated running gear that can negotiate curves, which guarantees very smooth running even on tight radii. An mfx+ digital decoder enables numerous operating, light and sound functions.

The lighting includes the three-light headlights that change depending on the direction of travel and the white marker lights with Swiss light change - all of which can be used conventionally and can be controlled digitally. The lighting can be switched to a red marker light for solo runs. Other digitally controllable light functions are the wrong way signal, the separately switchable headlights on each side of the locomotive, and the double A light function. The cab and engine room lighting can also be controlled digitally.

Design & workmanship

The model impresses with its high-quality metal design with numerous separately applied details such as cooling tubes for the transformer oil, heating resistors, roof cables, insulators and scissor pantographs with double collector strips. The driver's cabs and the engine room are finely reproduced. Steps, brake hoses and imitation screw couplers are included separately. The locomotive has a length of 22.1 cm over the buffers and is designed for a minimum radius of 360 mm.
