With the Märklin 42575 BDnrzf 740 commuter control car, you can add a central element of modern reversible trains to your H0 layout. As a 2nd-class control car with a baggage compartment, it forms a typical Deutsche Bahn AG commuter train formation together with “Silberlinge.” Ideal for historically accurate regional trains from Era V onward.

The Prototype – Flexibility for Everyday Use

The BDnrzf 740 is the classic control car for the well-known “Silberling” trains. It housed the control compartment, which allowed the engineer to control the train from this car during reversible train operation. The integrated baggage compartment was used to transport general cargo or bicycles—a practical feature, especially on branch and regional lines.

Feature-Rich Model Design

The model features an illuminated destination sign on the front, which adds to the realism. Depending on the direction of travel, the head and tail lights change automatically: when the locomotive is pushing, a white three-light head signal illuminates; when pulling, two red tail lights illuminate—just like the prototype. The lighting is factory-installed.

Ready for retrofitting and to scale

The car is prepared for the retrofitting of interior lighting (Item No. 7330) and a current-carrying coupler (Item No. 7319). With a length over buffers of 26.4 cm in 1:87 scale, it is ideal for use on all H0 layouts. The appropriate DC wheel set is available separately for DC systems.
