Märklin 43451 H0 Supplementary Car Set 1 for the RABe 501 "Giruno" - SBB, Era VI

The Märklin 43451 is the first extension car set for the extension of the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) RABe 501 "Giruno" high-speed multiple unit. This set is specially designed for the basic set with the train number RABe 501 022, which bears the emblem of the Swiss canton of Vaud and is used in cross-border EuroCity service. The prototype runs on the Frankfurt/Main - Freiburg - Basel - Zurich - Milano Centrale route. The model faithfully reproduces the operating conditions around the year 2024.

The set consists of two center cars reproduced to scale:

• Center car B (B11), 2nd class, with pantograph
• Middle car C (B10), 2nd class

Both cars are permanently coupled to each other and have Jakobs bogies with guide rails. They extend the five-car basic set to a longer, realistic train composition. The combination with other supplementary car sets (43452 and 43453) makes it possible to build a complete 11-part unit as it is used in real SBB service.

A technical highlight is the LED interior lighting with warm white LEDs fitted as standard. This is supplied via the continuous electrical connection of the entire train and can only be switched digitally in conjunction with the basic set. The pantograph on the center car B can also only be raised and lowered digitally via the decoder in conjunction with the basic unit.

The high model quality is also evident in the numerous finely engraved details, the exact printing and the correct proportions. The cars have a realistic appearance with a coordinated color scheme to match the 39812 basic set. The interior lighting, coupler kinematics and the continuous power connection allow smooth operation on the layout.

The add-on car set is designed for a minimum radius of 360 mm and has an overall length of 40.2 cm. It is ideal for use on modern H0 layouts with a focus on international express traffic and detailed representation of modern Era VI trains.

For model railroaders who want to depict the Giruno in its full, true-to-original length, this add-on car set is an indispensable component. In combination with the basic set and the other sets 43452 and 43453, an impressive train model with a real prototype and modern technology is created.
