With the Märklin 43452 add-on car set, you can expand the modern SBB RABe 501 "Giruno" high-speed multiple unit to an 11-piece unit. This set consists of two scale reproduction center cars that are permanently coupled together and have numerous technical highlights. The result is an authentic model of the Giruno that faithfully represents the cross-border train service between Germany, Switzerland and Italy.

Prototype and use

The RABe 501 "Giruno" is SBB's latest high-speed train and is used for international long-distance services. With the train route from Frankfurt am Main via Freiburg, Basel and Zurich to Milano Centrale, it connects important metropolitan regions in Germany, Switzerland and Italy. Train 022 bears the name "Canton Vaud" and is representative of the modern, comfortable and fast travel culture of the SBB in Era VI.

Model highlights

The two coaches in the set are equipped with LED interior lighting as standard. This is supplied via the continuous electrical connection of the entire unit and is only functional and digitally switchable in conjunction with the basic set. The pantograph of a center car can also only be raised and lowered separately digitally in conjunction with the basic unit. The cars have a scenery guide in the Jakobs bogies and are built to scale.

Technical features

The set is designed for a minimum radius of 360 mm and provides a realistic running appearance thanks to the permanently coupled cars. The length of the pair of wagons is 40.2 cm. Thanks to maintenance-free warm white LEDs in the interior lighting, a harmonious and atmospheric picture is created.

Addition to the basic set

This set is the ideal extension to the basic set of the Märklin RABe 501 "Giruno". Together with the other extension sets, a scale model of the 11-car SBB high-speed train is created - a real highlight for modern H0 layouts.
