Equipped with Relex couplers, the car can be quickly and easily coupled with other vehicles from the Märklin Start Up series. With a length over buffers of 11.5 cm, it fits perfectly into both small and large train formations. Its sturdy construction makes it ideal for younger model railroaders or for rough shunting operations.

The car is designed for the Märklin AC system but can also be used on DC layouts with the separately available DC wheel set E700580—ideal for flexibility in operation.
