With the Märklin 46479 tank car, you can bring a classic industrial freight car in the style of the 1970s to your H0 layout. The car is a prototype product of the firm Zeller+Gmelin GmbH & Co. KG from Eislingen/Fils and was used on the German Federal Railroad (DB) - an authentic model with a riveted boiler design and typical operating condition from 1971.
Tank wagons like this one were used to transport lubricants, oils and other liquid goods. The riveted tank construction was typical for this era. The wagon ran with two sets of wheels and was equipped with a brakeman's platform, but without a classic brakeman's cab - for simpler construction and reduced weight.
The model impresses with an openwork chassis frame and numerous attached details: the handbrake crank, discharge pipes, brake system and working platform with ladder are finely reproduced. The close couplers guided by the couplers ensure a close, prototypical wagon transition in the train set. The length over the buffers is approx. 10.1 cm.
The car is designed for the Märklin alternating current system. The matching E700580 DC wheel set can be retrofitted for use on DC systems. It is ideally suited for Era IV train compositions in industrial and petroleum traffic.
Included is a tank car with a riveted boiler design, brakeman's platform (without brakeman's cab), attached working platform and openwork chassis. DC wheel set available separately.
The Märklin 46479 brings a classic tank car atmosphere to your layout - ideal for authentic scenes around railroad depots, refineries, or freight yards of the 1970s.
