The prototype - Henschel DH 500 Ca

The Henschel type DH 500 Ca locomotive was a robust, diesel-hydraulic shunting locomotive that was mainly used for internal works traffic at Henschel itself. With its distinctive body, compact size and high power, it was ideal for heavy shunting work in confined spaces - a typical sight on factory premises and in sidings.

Model - solid metal and high-end digital technology

The locomotive body, chassis with main frame, wheels and coupling rods are made of die-cast zinc, supplemented by numerous attached metal parts such as handle bars, windshield wipers and bell. The locomotive is equipped as standard with an mfx digital decoder, parameterizable current storage, high-performance motor and Telex couplers at the front and rear. The lighting is implemented with LEDs, including white headlights alternating with red marker lights and cab lighting.

Functionality and operation

Operation is possible with Märklin Digital, mfx, DCC, direct and alternating current. All axles are powered, which in conjunction with the approx. 3.5 kg body provides enormous tractive power. Doors in the driver's cab can be opened, a locomotive driver figure is already installed, as are spring-loaded buffers and attached brake lines. The standard Telex coupler can be replaced with screw couplers if required (not included).

With a length over buffers of 27.8 cm and a minimum radius of 1,020 mm, this model is designed for large-scale 1-gauge layouts. It combines the finest model construction details with real operating power.
