Are you looking for an unusual model that impressively reflects the beginnings of electric locomotives? The "Märklin 55508 DRG E 70 08 Electric Locomotive in Era II" combines historic technology with the latest digital equipment. This model represents the early developments of electric locomotives and at the same time brings extensive functions to your model railroad layout.
The E 70 08 is one of the early electric locomotives and is based on the developments of the former KPEV. As a local freight locomotive of the Deutsche Reichsbahn Gesellschaft, it was designed for special purposes and combines classic construction principles with electric drive technology.
The model has been completely redesigned and features high-quality materials. The chassis with main frame is made of die-cast zinc, while the locomotive body is made of sheet brass. The design is complemented by numerous attached details made of centrifugally cast brass, which ensure a particularly realistic representation.
A centrally installed high-performance motor drives all axles and ensures reliable running characteristics. The locomotive is suitable for operation with alternating current, direct current, Märklin Digital and DCC. The integrated mfx decoder with 32 functions and a parameterizable current memory enable extensive control and stable operation.
The model offers numerous digital functions, including a white 2-light headlamp with red tail light, a switchable train meeting light and warm white LED lighting in the driver's cab. The driver's desks are also illuminated and the typical switchgear flashing has been integrated.
The prototypical scissor pantograph can be raised and lowered by motor in digital operation. The driver's cab doors can be opened and the interior has been elaborately reproduced. An engine driver figure is already integrated in the driver's cab.
Metal grab irons and numerous attached details such as signs and whistle ensure a realistic appearance. The buffer beams are equipped with spring buffers and attached brake lines. The model also has a remote-controlled Telex coupler and prototypical screw couplers.
The locomotive has a length over buffers of 31.3 cm and a weight of approx. 3 kg. The minimum passable radius is 1,020 mm, making it particularly suitable for larger layouts.
The "Märklin 55508 Electric Locomotive E 70 08 DRG Ep. II" impresses with its combination of historical model, high-quality construction and extensive digital functions. Now available in the model railroad store - get this impressive model for your layout.
