The Märklin 82710 car set includes four newly constructed German Federal Railroad type OOtz 44 self-unloading cars on a scale of 1:220. The open freight cars realistically represent the typical bulk freight traffic of Era III - ideal for model railroaders who want to represent authentic coal, ore, or ballast transportation on their Z-gauge layout.

The prototype - classics in bulk goods transportation

The OOtz 44 wagon type was the backbone of the DB's bulk goods traffic from the 1950s onwards. Whether coal for power plants or ore for the steel industry - the open, four-axle self-unloading wagons made fast loading and unloading possible and were therefore an integral part of freight traffic in Era III.

Model - Detailed new construction

The wagons have been completely redesigned and offer excellent detailing despite the small scale. The body is made of finely engraved plastic and is prototypically lettered. All of the cars have close coupler hooks for tight car transitions in the train set. Four different car numbers make realistic train sets possible.

Technology & dimensions

The set is produced on a scale of 1:220 (Z gauge). The total length over buffers is approx. 187 mm. Ideal for Era III freight trains on compact and large layouts.
