The Märklin 87762 Construction Train Car Set is a prototypical reproduction of a typical German Federal Railroad (DB) construction train from Era IV. With detailed paint schemes and a varied mix of cars, this set brings the atmosphere of railroad construction sites of days gone by to your Z-gauge layout.
Construction trains played an important role in the maintenance and modernization of the rail network. This set shows a construction train consisting of rebuilt "Donnerbüchsen" type passenger cars that were used as lounge, living and service cars as well as a low side car for transporting materials. The vehicles are presented in the authentic operating condition of the 1970s and 1980s.
The set includes four wagons that impress with their fine and prototypical color scheme. All of the cars are equipped with disk wheels and are harmoniously coordinated. The wagon symbols are lovingly reproduced and faithfully reflect the use of the vehicles as lounge or sleeping carriages and as material wagons. With a total length over buffers of approx. 230 mm, the set offers an impressive presence on the layout.
The construction train set perfectly complements locomotives such as the class 290 diesel locomotive (item number 88511) or other wagon sets such as the 87761. Ideal for use on construction site scenarios or as an operational addition to freight trains. The authentic design also makes this set a highlight in collections.
The Märklin 87762 construction train car set is a carefully detailed model that realistically depicts the everyday work of the German Federal Railroad. It is the ideal choice for model railroaders and collectors who want to make operation on their Z-gauge layout historically correct and varied.
