The Märklin 88238 represents the modern class 193 Vectron electric locomotive in service for the Swedish transportation company Snälltåget. The prototype is operated by the ELL (European Loc Pool) and used internationally - shown here in Era VI operating condition. The locomotive is presented in a finely printed, multi-colored paint scheme that impressively reflects the modern character of the Snälltåget trains.
The model is based on a very fine construction with metal running gear and a detailed plastic body. It is equipped with a powerful bell-shaped armature motor that drives both bogies completely. As a result, the locomotive offers smooth running characteristics and reliable traction - even with longer trains.
A visual highlight is the warm white/red LED headlights, which change depending on the direction of travel. This creates a realistic operating image in both forward and reverse operation. In addition, finely applied details such as the fan grille, roof lines and side printing ensure an exact appearance in Z scale (1:220).
With a length over buffers of approx. 86 mm, the locomotive is ideally dimensioned for modern Z layouts. The 88238 is ideally suited for use with the Märklin 87283 car set, available separately, which includes the cars to go with it in the Snälltåget design.
Whether for use on international express train routes in the model or as a modern collector's item - the class 193 "Snälltåget" brings Scandinavian railroad flair and Vectron power to the Z layout.
