The prototype - The E 41: Versatile workhorse

The class E 41 (from 1968: BR 141) was designed from the 1950s for local and regional transport and was soon also used in front of express and freight trains. With its characteristic shape, five headlights and vertical fan blades, it was a familiar sight on German main and branch lines for decades.
