The Märklin 88652 brings the well-known Class 360 shunting locomotive, in the DB AG – Cargo division version, to Z scale (1:220). The model is painted in the typical traffic-red color scheme of Era V and represents a finely detailed, powerful locomotive for shunting and local freight service on compact model railroads.
The model features a high-quality metal chassis and body and is equipped with a powerful bell-armature motor that drives all axles. This ensures smooth, powerful running with exceptional quietness—even during demanding shunting operations.
A special highlight is the functioning dummy shaft, which—like on the prototype—is part of the rod drive and gives the model a particularly realistic appearance. Added to this are inset windows, attached brake imitations, and handrails, which further enhance the model’s detailing.
The cab is faithfully reproduced and integrated into the locomotive, as is the finely detailed roof equipment, which accurately replicates the ventilators and other technical components. With a length over the buffers of approx. 48 mm, the locomotive fits perfectly into tight track radii and complex Z-scale yard layouts.
