With the Märklin 88837 you can bring one of the most famous German steam locomotives to your Z scale layout in a revised form: the class 52 of the German Federal Railroad, equipped with a tub tender, Witte wind deflectors and many fine detailed elements. A real powerhouse on a scale of 1:220 - ideal for Era III freight trains.

The prototype - War-proven locomotive in DB service

The class 52 was originally a so-called DRB war locomotive. Even after the war, it remained in service in large numbers - now with the DB, including in heavy freight service. Typical of the post-war period: conversions with tub tenders, closed driver's cabs and Witte wind deflectors, as shown here in the early 1950s.

Model - Finely reworked, functionally strong

The model has been revised in many respects and upgraded both technically and visually. The powerful bell-shaped armature motor drives all the driving axles. The fully movable linkage is finely executed, supplemented by brake replicas, sand pipes and other details. The driver's cab is fitted with inset windows.

Lighting & optics

The warm white two-light headlights change depending on the direction of travel. Witte wind deflectors and a disk leading wheel complete the realistic overall impression.
