Description

The G 1000 BB can be used for heavy shunting and light mainline service. It is licensed in Germany, Italy, Luxembourg (CFL series 1100) and France. At SBB Cargo, they have the series designation Am 842. Some locomotives were leased by the former Railion Deutschland (now DB Cargo Deutschland) in 2006 to test their suitability as a possible successor to the 290/294 series. They were given the class number 261 for this purpose, but these book numbers were not written on the vehicles.
