With the Mehlhose 211003399 Multicar M21 in the “Coal Trade” version, Mehlhose brings a genuine slice of everyday life in the GDR to your TT model railroad layout (1:120 scale). As a versatile micro-transporter, the Multicar M21 was an irreplaceable vehicle in East German urban and utility services—especially in the coal trade.
The M21 was the first industrially manufactured Multicar model and was produced at the VEB Fahrzeugwerk Waltershausen starting in the 1960s. In the “coal trade” version, it was used to deliver briquettes, coke, or lignite to households, cooperatives, and businesses—often seen in front of apartment buildings, in backyards, or at local supply cooperatives (LPGs).
The vehicle has been faithfully recreated in TT scale—including an open cargo bed, fine printing, and the characteristic “Kohlehandel” lettering. The angular body, functional design, and realistic color scheme make the Multicar an eye-catcher in any street scene, at depots, or in city dioramas.
