Minitrix 11169 N scale starter set "DR freight train"

With the Minitrix 11169 digital starter set, beginners and advanced modellers alike receive a high-quality complete package for getting started in the world of N scale model railroading. The set shows a typical freight train of the German State Railroad (DR) from Era IV. The heart of the set is the class 243 electric locomotive, equipped with a modern digital decoder and sound functions.

Technology & equipment

The locomotive has an integrated digital decoder for operation in the DCC and mfx systems. A sound generator provides realistic operating sounds that bring model railroad operation to life. Four axles are driven, one of which has traction tires for improved traction. The white LED headlights change depending on the direction of travel. The locomotive has kinematics for close couplers and attached grab irons for greater prototypical fidelity.

Freight cars & track material

The set includes various freight cars that represent typical DR freight traffic. All of the cars are equipped with close coupling kinematics. The track material includes a track oval with a radius of 2, allowing the layout to be built on a base area of just 90 x 47 cm. The track connection box, the switching power supply (230 V / 30 VA) and the mobile station are included in the scope of delivery.

Realistic operation on a scale of 1:160

The combination of harmonious design, digital technology and the robust power supply makes the starter set suitable for permanent operation. The total train length of approx. 407 mm makes the set ideal for compact layouts with lots of play value.
