The German State Railroad (DRG) Erz IId self-unloading car is a classic example of ore transportation in Era II. This wagon was specially developed for transporting iron ore and is characterized by its robust construction and functional design. The N model impresses with its attention to detail and realistic loading with real iron ore, which is shown in true-to-scale grain size.
The four-axle open self-unloading wagon Erz IId of the type OOt Saarbrücken (later OOtz 43) was developed in the 1930s to meet the requirements of ore transportation. The wagon is equipped with a medium-height upper body and a brakeman's platform, which optimized both the loading capacity and the operability. Thanks to the pressed plate bogies of the standard design, the wagon could also be used reliably under heavy loads.
The model of the Erz IId in N gauge is a precise replica of the original. The brakeman's platform with front adjusting wheel and the medium-high upper body are authentically reproduced. The wagon is loaded with real iron ore in true-to-scale grain size, which enables a realistic representation. The pressed sheet metal bogies have also been faithfully reproduced to preserve the appearance of the original.
With a length over buffers of 64 mm, the wagon fits perfectly into historical train compositions of Era II. It is an ideal addition for scenarios depicting the freight traffic of the Deutsche Reichsbahn in the 1930s.
Era II (1920-1945) was characterized by a rapid development in rail freight transport, which was essential for the transport of raw materials such as iron ore. The Erz IId was a central component of this era and enabled the efficient transportation of large loads of ore. This model authentically brings the atmosphere of the Reichsbahn era to your model railway layout.
The model impresses with numerous prototypical details. The brakeman's platform with adjusting wheel at the front and the medium-high upper body are precisely reproduced. The loading with real iron ore in true-to-scale grain size ensures a particularly realistic representation. The pressed sheet metal bogies round off the authentic appearance.
The Ore IId self-unloading wagon can be excellently combined with other wagons of this type to depict realistic ore transportation. Supplemented with historic steam locomotives and other freight wagons from Era II, this model can be used in a variety of ways on your layout.
The model is robust and easy to maintain. Regular cleaning of the wheels and couplings ensures smooth operation. The high-quality workmanship guarantees a long service life and consistently high quality.
The Erz IId 15013-08 self-unloading wagon is a detailed model that authentically reflects the freight traffic of the Deutsche Reichsbahn. With its excellent workmanship, realistic loading and prototypical design, it is an ideal addition to any N model railway layout of Era II. Whether as a single car or as part of a train set - this car is a must for model railroaders and collectors.
