The German State Railroad (DRG) Ore IId self-unloading car is a symbol of the efficient freight traffic of Era II. Specially designed for the transportation of iron ore, this wagon impresses with its robust construction and its characteristic pressed sheet metal bogies. The H0 model offers an impressively detailed reproduction and realistic loading with real iron ore.
The four-axle open self-unloading wagon Erz IId of the type OOt Saarbrücken (later OOtz 43) was specially developed in the 1930s for the transportation of iron ore. The design with a medium-height upper body and a brakeman's platform offered optimum transport options and increased safety. Thanks to the pressed plate bogies of the standard design, the wagon was designed for the high loads that were typical for ore transportation.
The model of the Erz IId in N gauge is a true-to-scale replica of the prototype. The brakeman's platform with front adjusting wheel is just as finely crafted as the medium-high upper body. The loading with real iron ore in true-to-scale grain size ensures a particularly realistic representation. The pressed sheet metal bogies are also precisely modeled, which further enhances the prototypical appearance.
With a length over buffers of 64 mm, the model fits seamlessly into Era II train compositions. It is ideal for use in combination with other cars and historic locomotives to recreate realistic freight trains.
Era II (1920-1945) was characterized by rapid development in rail freight transport. Wagons such as the Erz IId played a key role in the transportation of raw materials such as iron ore, which was indispensable in heavy industry. This model enables the authentic reproduction of historical scenarios from this period and brings the atmosphere of the Reichsbahn to your model railway layout.
The model impresses with numerous prototypical details. The brakeman's platform with an adjusting wheel at the front, the medium-height upper body and the precisely reproduced bogies contribute to the authentic look. The load of real iron ore in true-to-scale grain size gives the wagon a realistic character that enriches any freight train scenario.
The Ore IId self-unloading wagon can be ideally combined with other models of this type to depict realistic ore transportation. The addition of steam locomotives and other freight wagons from Era II also enables a wide range of possible uses.
The model is durable and easy to maintain. Regular cleaning of the wheels and couplings ensures trouble-free operation. The high-quality workmanship guarantees a long service life and a consistently high level of quality.
The self-unloading wagon Erz IId 15013-09 is a detailed model that authentically represents the historical ore transport of the Deutsche Reichsbahn. With its excellent workmanship, realistic loading and prototypical design, it is an ideal addition to any Epoch II N model railway layout. Whether as a single car or as part of a train set - this car is a highlight for collectors and model railroaders.
