About the original: The Vectron is a locomotive platform from Siemens Mobility, which has been the successor to the electric EuroSprinter and diesel-electric EuroRunner platform since 2010. Both electric and diesel-electric locomotives can be built on the platform. By August 2022, this had been done over 1500 times for 62 different customers. These customers can use the locomotives in 20 countries for which the platform is approved. The production of the car bodies, parts of the pre-assembly and the final assembly are carried out at the Siemens plant in Munich-Allach. The Vectron Dual Mode dual-power locomotive for 15 kV alternating voltage and with a diesel engine with 2000 kW power at the wheel, is listed in Germany under the class 248 and has a maximum speed of 160 km/h and a maximum axle load of 22.5 tons. Minitrix is reproducing one of these locomotives in this model.

About the model: With this model of the BR 248 (Vectron Dual Mode) dual-power locomotive from Alpha Trains Luxembourg S.à r.l, leased to LEONHARD WEISS GmbH und Co. KG, Göppingen, Minitrix offers a high-quality, technically and visually outstanding replica. It features a housing and beams made of die-cast zinc, which have a positive effect on the running characteristics and stability of the locomotive due to its slightly higher weight. A powerful motor with flywheel mass drives 4 axles, which transfer the power of the motor excellently to the tracks. Visually, the model impresses with an accurately replicated locomotive body, with precise and true-to-original printing, a detailed running gear and lots of intricate components. The intricate details include free-standing grab irons, detailed roof electronics with finely reproduced pantographs and various components on the running gear, such as hoses, springs and much more. A factory-installed digital decoder makes the numerous light and sound functions digitally controllable. Thanks to a high-quality loudspeaker, the sound functions have a powerful, clear and true-to-original sound.
