The Minitrix 16269 represents one of the most legendary express locomotives of the German Federal Railroad in N scale (1:160): the class 112 "Bügelfalte". The model shows locomotive 112 310-8 in operating condition around 1971 in the elegant purple/ivory paint scheme as it was used on the TEE "Rheinpfeil".
The locomotive is one of the standard locomotives with an aerodynamic front - the eponymous "crease design" - and is equipped with an all-round rain gutter, apron and buffer cladding. This makes it a real prototype model for high-quality long-distance trains of Era IV, but it could also be encountered in local and freight traffic.
Technically, the model is based on a completely new design. The body and lower part of the locomotive are made of die-cast zinc and therefore offer excellent running characteristics and a realistic weight. Inside, a motor with a flywheeldrives all four axles. Traction tires provide additional traction.
A digital decoder with mfx and DCC compatibility is integrated and offers extensive sound functions for a realistic operating feel. The headlights and marker lights change with the direction of travel and are equipped with warm white LEDs - digitally switchable.
The model has kinematics for close couplers and is therefore ideally suited for use with modern N express train cars. Attached grab irons and fine detailing round off the overall appearance of this TEE locomotive. The length over the buffers is 103 mm.
The Minitrix 16269 is a must for all fans of the high-quality DB long-distance service of the 1970s and brings a real highlight to your N layout with its look, technology and reference to the "Rheinpfeil" TEE.
