Minitrix 16346 N electric locomotive 103 222-6, RailAdventure, Ep.VI, DC-MFX-Sound Product Details

Description

About the original: The DB class 103 is a heavy electric locomotive for fast passenger trains, which was produced 4 times as a pre-series model in 1965 and 145 times as a main series model between 1970 and 1974. With a continuous output of 7,440 kW (10,116 hp), the class 103 locomotives were the most powerful single-unit locomotives in the world when they entered service and are still the most powerful locomotives ever in regular service in Germany. In 1997, DB decided to gradually phase out the locomotives. Wear and tear was one of the main reasons for the decommissioning. This was caused by over 30 years of service in front of heavy intercity trains at speeds of up to 200 km/h. The remaining locomotives were decommissioned by DB in 2003, but some of them can still be seen in operation. The DB Museum still uses E03 001, 103 113 and 103 245 for special trains and transfers and the private company RailAdventure from Munich has 103 222 in permanent service.

About the model:Minitrix is reproducing the RailAdventure railroad company with this model. The model, which is very convincing both technically and visually, represents the operating condition of Era VI. The model is visually impressive due to the excellently reproduced shape of the locomotive body, a large number of intricate details and a paint scheme that is true to the original. This is characterized by the high precision of the prints and lettering and the excellent color tone. The many details include accurately reproduced roof electronics, including digitally raised and lowered pantographs, fan grilles, free-standing grab rails and a very detailed running gear. The technical features of the locomotive are also impressive across the board. A centrally installed motor with flywheel mass, which drives 4 axles, ensures excellent running characteristics, a great transfer of power to the track and high tractive power. The extensive light and sound functions can be controlled digitally using the factory-fitted sound decoder. A high-quality loudspeaker ensures that the sound functions sound powerful, clear and true to the original.
