Minitrix 16431 N electric locomotive 143 007-3, DBAG, Ep.V, DC-MFX-Sound Product Details

Description

About the prototype: The class 143 of the DB AG is the renamed class 243 of the Deutsche Reichsbahn, which was developed for use in all train operating areas. This took place in 1982 with the construction of a prototype, which was extensively tested before a total of 646 series units were produced from 1984-91. After the class 243 had proven itself in all areas of operation at the DR, 2 units were sent to the Bundesbahn in Freiburg and Düsseldorf for testing. As the tests there were also successful, the DB leased 150 locomotives, which now operated in the FRG under the class number 143. With the unification of the railroads in 1994, the series was used throughout Germany in a wide variety of areas. As of April 2016, over 300 locomotives had already been scrapped. The main reason for this was the lightweight construction, which caused the locomotive body to buckle even in minor accidents, often resulting in total damage. The BR 143 also had difficulties with new tenders, as it is quite slow with a top speed of 120 km/h and does not have a regenerative brake. As of November 2018, 146 units were still in operation, mostly in S-Bahn services, e.g. in Dresden, Halle (Saale) and Nuremberg, on the Taunus network between Frankfurt (Main) and Limburg (Lahn) and at Regio Nordost in Rostock, Cottbus and Berlin. The original 53 DB Cargo locomotives have all been retired in the meantime.

About the model: With this model of the Br 143 007, Minitrix offers a high-quality, technically and visually outstanding reproduction. It has an impressive body and girders made of die-cast zinc, which have a positive influence on the running characteristics and stability of the locomotive due to the slightly higher weight. A powerful motor with flywheel mass drives 4 axles, which transfer the power of the motor excellently to the tracks. Visually, the model impresses with a precisely replicated locomotive body, a detailed running gear and a large number of intricate components with enormous fidelity to the original. The intricate details include free-standing grab irons, detailed roof electronics with finely reproduced pantographs and various components on the running gear, such as hoses, springs and much more. A factory-fitted digital decoder makes the numerous light and sound functions digitally controllable. Thanks to a high-quality loudspeaker, the sound functions have a powerful, clear and true-to-original sound.
